The screen on the Samsung Galaxy S4 is superb and you might think that it could't be better. After all, it is 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is HD TV resolution in a device you can hold in your hand.
However, a few simple tweaks might enhance the display and turn it from a good one into an amazing one. You just need to change a system setting and it takes just seconds.
Pull down from the top of the screen and then tap the gear icon to go into Settings. Press My Device followed by Display. In the Display section, choose Screen mode.
Adapt display is selected by default. Tap the tick box to turn it off. Now you can select any of the other settings - Dynamic, Standard, Professional photo, or Movie. As you select each one, you can see the effect in the image above.
The colours and contrast will change slightly with each setting and you should choose the best one. It is a bit of an artificial image though and it probably isn't typical of the sort of photographs that you take. It is best to open up Gallery and to browse through your photos to get a better idea of whether a setting is good or not.
It does involve a bit of back and forth, changing the setting and then viewing some photos, but it is worth it. Some people find the colour saturation a bit too much on Samsung phones and the Movie setting is more natural. Try it and see.
